AI shopping agents read your page's HTML and don't run JavaScript. Most review apps draw their stars with JavaScript, so a product with hundreds of reviews can look unreviewed to ChatGPT. Paste a product link to check.
When a shopper asks an AI assistant for the best product in your category, ratings are one of the strongest signals it uses to choose. The assistant reads your product page the way a search crawler does: it downloads the HTML and looks for structured data (schema.org AggregateRating). It doesn't wait for scripts to draw stars on screen.
So if your review app only renders stars in the browser, the agent sees a product with no reviews, and a competitor with fewer reviews that agents can read gets recommended instead. Most review apps have a setting that writes the rating into the page as structured data. This checker tells you whether it's on.
